Our Christmas Party

This is Jo my boss and her 2 girls, the party was at Jo's house.

Jo very talented.

One of the kids getting ready for his rap debut!!!!!!

Dr Don on the left and Andrew on the right one of the nurses, obviously both are having a wonderful time.

Dr Don trying to have a quite dip..........Oh and there are 2 policeman in Timber Creek and they were both at the party so not sure what happens there though I was on call and told basically I was it for the whole town interesting.

Outback Communities

The work out here is completely different. We have some outlying communities that we have to drive out to. These photos were on the way to Kildurk, about a 2hr drive from Timber Creek. You turn off the highway and drive along a dirt road which is in the middle of nowhere and I came across a few men on horse back rounding up the cattle. It was an amazing site there were hundreds of them...cattle not men unfortunately.

This is a massive Boab tree at Kildurk can you see me standing next to it??????

Another picture of me and the Boab tree.

Some Brolga's just next to the clinic.

Timber Creek Clinic

Timber Creek Clinic, it's much nicer than Lajamanu, I would actually be happy to stay here longer, but unfortunately at this stage circumstances won't allow that, and I'm heading home soon. Maybe come back next year when it's not so hot.

The kids room.

The emergency room, certainly better equipped, as we're on a major highway and they have had a few roll overs!!

A decent ambulance.

Crossing Border again

Coming back into the NT

There is a drive up on top of the escarpment (yay you don't have to walk) and it looks out over Timber Creek.

A view of the town, can you see my house....... if you look really hard

Just another view out in the other direction.

Across The Border

So I'm off driving on my little day trip to Kununurra when I come across the sign below!!! I had no idea I was crossing the border, so now so far in the last 3 months I have been in 3 different states.

See the brick wall I was actually on top of this. This is a dam at Lake Argyle the whole area is so pretty.

Lake Argyle, they still have cruises running on the lake but due to the time difference I would have had to wait to long then been driving back at night time so that was a shame, as they were sunset cruises.

Lake Argyle

Day Trip

Now this was an interesting little trip and how's this for a name not very inviting but thought I'd have a look anyway. Normally springs is like hot springs and it had been so long since i'd seen water.

Again the photo does not do it justice but the name does.... there could have quite easily been numerous dead horses beneath the surface and the flies......

Can you see the surface this was all like moss type yuk stuff, very descriptive I know. But alas still no swimming.

It does look inviting in the photos though, shame.
This is the view from my front door amazing........

Just another angle from my front door, so different from the desert.

The hall way, 1st door on your right is the laundry, 2nd door on right the bathroom, right down the end my room and last on the left another bedroom. Heaps bigger than Lajamanu and nicer, everything is nicer, the town, the people, the clinic, everything.

My New Home

This is my new house in Timber creek, this is the dining room and kitchen. Much nicer than Lajamanu.

The lounge area, very spacious.

My backyard.

You guessed it the front yard!!!!

I even have a verandah!!! Too hot unfortunately to sit on but spectacular views as you will see in future photos.

Leaving Lajamanu off to Timber Creek

It was a 6 hr drive but certainly worth it, just for the change in scenery alone. Heading into the Kimberly Region the surrounding escarpment is spectacular no more desert yay.

No more red dirt roads, all the roads are sealed it makes such a difference my poor car sure has taken a beating. Oh this was a walking track up to the top of the escarpment just thought I'd take a photo to show you and no I didn't walk it.......2 reasons....1st see how far away it is??? 2nd it's about 45 in the shade and as you can see it's not in the shade.

Just more scenery on the way to Timber Creek.

Big bush fires been through, lots of areas still smoldering.

A visitor waiting for me on my sink!!!!! He sat there all day then in the sink in the plug hole. Finally I plucked up the courage by the evening and used an orange juicer to get him out and chucked him outside, ugly little critter.

Dinner time Movie

Now tell me what is the go with this????? Just some light entertainment to watch while enjoying dinner. Wasn't even game to put it on to see what was on it, I think the title says it all!!!

This is one of the community elders Joey James and his son, Joey has 2 wives lucky him eh??

This is Tara a young girl I took a liking to who was in the care of FACS (our DOCS).

Ronnie another local.

The Foals

Trying to relax in our beautiful pool out the back and Wally kept annoying us. He'd been eating my hat and nibbling my ear now chewing my fingers!!!!!!

Pip with Manu eating her hair and Wally having a drink.

Trying to stop Wally nibbling my ear.

Pip is mad always giving her "babies" a kiss very cute though.

I'm just irresistible !!!!!!!!!

Sight Seeing in Lajamanu

Believe it or not I actually walked up to the top of this!!! It doesn't look far but believe me it was a long, long way, but standing on the top was an amazing view as you will see in the following photos. Oh and the next day my legs were stiff which amused some people.

On the top amazing views and millions of flies, my hat has a fly net wish I had it on!!!

See the car in the distance back down by the tree?????? That's how far I walked!!! Did I tell you it was a long way.

Merrilyn, myself and Mi on top of the escarpment.

A Lajamanu sunset!!!
